UPDATE: Found a solution! I searched "five letter words with only Y as a vowel" and got to https://americapublishersauthorspotlight.com/blogs/5-letter-words-with-no-vowels/ which is where I found XYLYL. 

Merriam Webster says XYLYL is "any of several isomeric monovalent radicals C8H9 derived from the three xylenes by removal of a hydrogen atom

especially : a radical of the formula (CH3)2C6H3"
